I'm not the one to typically get into April fools day, but I have to admit the Google move and changing their name to "Topeka" for the day has put a smile on my face. Hat's off to the Mayor of Topeka for this fun – and as of today, very effective – publicity tactic: Topeka unofficially changed its name to Google as part of an effort in March to convince the search company to select Topeka for Google's experimental, ultra-fast broadband network. Google reciprocated today with their own name change. What a strong message that sends, creative and bold. Each time I log into Google today, I am reminded to think clever, to think big for our clients. Go Topeka!
